Happy New Year

First of all: happy New Year if you are reading this. I hope it will bring you all the joy, success and love you deserve.

I used to consider new years resolutions to be "for other people" because mine just seemed to remain the same year after year. So instead I went a different route and ended the old year with a memory or a bad habit or what-have-you, which I didn't want to bring into the new year. I basically wrote it down on a piece of paper and burned it. It has been working for me for a number of years and I feel like I can start into the new year somewhat less burdened.

But lately I've been feeling like I lack direction. I have a lot of ideas and things I want to do, but seem to never find the time or forget about them (mommybrain is partly to blame). And then I saw this post on collectivegen.com, a blog I've been following for some time, and I thought I'd give it a try. The picture shows the free printable Gen made for her goals each year and I just went with that. It has given me a sense of moving forward and helped me to focus on setting goals and working towards them. It used to come naturally to me, but now as a mom I probably needed the kick in the butt. So from now on it'll be New Year-clear goals instead of resolutions.
